Yoga
At the Lotus Retreat we run weekly yoga classes with a variety of styles and approaches including Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Kundalini and Hatha. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced yogi there is something for everyone. Yoga at the Lotus Retreat will bring a deeply nourishing dimension to your week. Our shala is a beautiful, sacred space, class sizes are small and all our teachers offer a personalised, nurturing style of teaching.. During the summer the patio doors can be opened onto the courtyard offering light and air. You are welcome to stay and browsing our India boutique, have a treatment or enjoy our fabulous cafe after your session.

Catherine Bailey
Catherine offers a mindful approach to her hatha yoga classes. Integrating breath and body
awareness throughout her class. The morning classes help you to ground, be present with
the moment, rebalance, strengthen and enjoy yoga as a nurturing, healing experience. Leave feeling energised and ready for the day.
Mindful Asana Yoga: (Monday 9.30 - 10.30 am)
Mindful Asana focused yoga class strengthens and creates movement and flow in the body. With breath and body awareness, we mindfully move, stretch and energise. The class includes sun salutations, standing and seated asana and final relaxation, Savasana/yoga nidra. Suitable for practising yogis in the morning and beginners at 6pm.
Women’s Mindful Yoga: (Saturday 9.30 - 10.30 / 11.00 - 12.00 am)
Catherine’s Saturday mornings classes are designed to uplift and improve your wellbeing by strengthening mental, physical and emotional health and creating balance in a natural, holistic way. Mindful Balance also promotes inner peace, helping you to calm the mind and body.

Universal Yoga with Ira
Wednesday 9.30 - 10.30am & Saturday 12.30-1.30pm
I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years, and for me, it is far more than just physical exercise - it is a transformative tool for the body, mind, and soul. Yoga provides a space to process emotions, reconnect with ourselves, and access the incredible inner resources we all hold within.
My journey with yoga has deepened over the years, especially during the challenging times brought about by the war in Ukraine. Teaching yoga has become my way of offering balance, strength, and peace to others.
I specialise in Universal Yoga, a dynamic and holistic system created by Andrey Lappa. This style focuses on harmonising the body and mind through active asanas, pranayama (breathwork), and mindfulness. It is designed to challenge practitioners of all levels while helping them find alignment, balance, and inner calm.
Join me for a practice that energises the body, calms the mind, and restores the spirit. Together, let’s take a step toward self-discovery and growth.

Katalina Valda
Embodied Wisdom Yoga Flow: Thurdsay 6.00 - 7.00pm
A hatha-vinyasa style yoga class, with the vinyasa part slower paced to allow accessibility for all abilities.
Kini's classes are heart-centered explorations of the self, beginning with pranayama and grounding practices to tune in and find our centre, and with invitations to reflect on emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Her classes are a blend of traditional hatha poses, with a focus on your internal experience of the posture, and slow vinyasa sequences as moving meditation with the breath, the creation of heat to alchemise our experiences into self-empowerment and somatic release exercises to move stagnant energy through the body, making space for innate wisdom to emerge. Classes are also inspired by her connection to the natural cycles of the Earth, the seasons and the phases of the moon; her perspective being we are nature and intrinsically intertwined with the way it is ever-changing and ever-evolving, in this way we can look to nature for deeper truths about our selves and our journey through this place and lifetime.
£12.50 per class (based on a 4 week block booking) or £14.50 on a drop-in basis.

Sara Coles
Vinyassa Flow: Monday 6.00 - 7.00 / 7.30 - 8.30
Sara has been teaching yoga for over 20 years and is feeling blessed to be teaching students, old and new, at the Lotus Retreat. Sara's core style of teaching is Vinyasa Flow: a dynamic, fluid practice that focusses on creating alignment and balance in the body and the breath. Flowing sequences strengthen, tone and bring balance the body, the mind and the emotions.
Sara teaches with great compassion and intuition - tuning into the needs of her students and drawing on her many years of experience. You can expect Sara's classes to be both gently challenging and relaxing: suiting the needs of her students.

Loueze Miller
Loueze is a highly qualified Yoga teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience, having trained and studied both in the Uk and around the globe in India, Thailand, Australia, Greece and Turkey.
Teaching a vinyasa style yoga in a non-dogmatic, compassionate and humorous way, Loueze guides you to a joyful, expanding pain-free, safe personalised yoga life journey.
Each session incorporates asana (postural) flow sequence, pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditative relaxation skills, allowing the practice to promote and help maintain physical health, flexibility, mental and emotional well being.

Rod Diaz
Welcome to Rod's empowering men’s Hatha yoga class, focusing on breath, grounding, inward reflection and strength development. Absolute beginners to yoga are very welcome, as Rod will start with the basics and develop the class to everyone’s level.
Rod has been practicing yoga for more than twenty years, most of his practice Asia-based, covering many of the modern yoga modalities. He enjoys strong and grounding Hatha practices along with the more invigorating breath-centric Vinyasa sequences. Rod’s men’s class will be a balance of both, where all abilities will be catered for.
Rod is a graduate of Cheltenham's Orange Yoga 200-hour teacher training course with Ian Davis, and is currently developing his knowledge and practice through a further 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training with Orange Yoga.
The Sunday men’s yoga class aims to build a small group of like-minded men who want to explore ways to better care for their bodies, minds and spirits.
